New collaboration targets speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour with advanced closed-loop moisture control
Kohler Coating has announced a new strategic partnership with BHS Corrugated Maschinen- und Anlagen GmbH to jointly develop a high-speed single-face laminator designed to achieve speeds of up to 15,000 sheets per hour.
The collaboration brings together Kohler Coating’s expertise in laminating technology with BHS Corrugated’s experience in high-performance corrugated production systems. The companies aim to develop a new-generation laminating solution focused on high productivity, process consistency and quality.
Designed for High-Speed Lamination
A key feature of the new system will be closed-loop moisture control, designed to maintain consistent moisture conditions during the lamination process. This technology is expected to support stable production and consistent lamination quality at high operating speeds.
The development combines Kohler Coating’s laminating technology with BHS Corrugated’s wet-end expertise, creating an integrated solution intended to meet the growing requirements of high-volume corrugated packaging production.
Combining Engineering Expertise
The partnership was formally announced during a meeting at BHS Corrugated, where Mike Kohler, SVP and CCO of Kohler Coating, and Christian Engel, CEO of BHS Corrugated, marked the collaboration.
The companies see the project as the beginning of a broader technology partnership, with further collaborations planned between Kohler Coating and BHS Corrugated.
Looking Ahead
With corrugated packaging manufacturers increasingly seeking higher production speeds while maintaining consistent product quality, the development of a high-speed single-face laminator represents an important area of technology advancement.
The companies state that this is the first of several planned collaborations, indicating a broader partnership aimed at combining their respective engineering and process expertise to develop advanced solutions for the corrugated packaging industry.
