StackIT, the new one-piece stackable corrugated packaging solution from VPK Packaging UK & Ireland has been shortlisted for Corrugated Product of the Year at the UK Packaging Awards 2026. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane, London, on Wednesday 7 October 2026.
Developed as an alternative to traditional two-piece base and lid formats, StackIT brings product protection, stacking stability and shelf-ready presentation together in a single corrugated pack. An integrated locking mechanism keeps products secure through handling, transport and merchandising, while a modular structure means the pack can adapt to different products, packing processes and display requirements. It is this ability to do the work of a multi-component pack in a single piece that sets the format apart.
VPK Packaging’s recently launched solution has already made its commercial debut, supporting an own-label chilled range for a major UK grocery retailer, showing an early, high-volume application in a demanding retail supply chain.
Simon Saunders, Head of Design, Innovation & Technical at VPK Packaging UK & Ireland, said: “To be shortlisted at the UK Packaging Awards is a real honour, and to earn that recognition alongside some of the most respected names in corrugated packaging makes it all the more meaningful. The standard of work in this category is always exceptional, so to see StackIT named among it is something the whole team is proud of.
“What makes this shortlisting especially rewarding is how new-to-the-market StackIT is. It has already been recognised for innovation and the difference it can make. For an idea built on a simple principle, that one well-designed pack can do the work of two, feels like a very encouraging sign of what is to come.”
The recognition reflects VPK’s wider view of packaging as an operational and strategic decision rather than a commodity one. StackIT shows that philosophy in action, as a format designed to perform across the whole supply chain journey, from the packing line to the pallet, the vehicle and the shelf.
Saunders added: “The shortlisting confirms what StackIT sets out to prove; how reducing packaging complexity and improving how it performs are not competing goals. Approached with expertise and strategic thinking, they’re actually the same one.”
