Corex Romania, part of the Belgian group VPK, has announced the start of construction of a new factory in Salonta, Bihor County, following an investment of four million euros.
The new unit will occupy an area of 6,000 square meters and reflects the VPK group’s confidence in the economic potential of Romania. The factory is scheduled to be completed in January 2027, with the possibility of further expansion. Corex Romania, with an annual turnover of six million euros, produces cardboard tubes and cores, while VPK Packaging, which closed 2025 with a turnover of 46.8 million euros, operates in the field of corrugated cardboard packaging.
VPK Group, founded in 1936, operates over 70 factories in 20 countries and has approximately 6,400 employees. VPK’s presence in Romania began in 2007, and production in Salonta started in 2009.
