The Sheet Plant Association (SPA) has accepted an invitation to join the Board of Young People in Print & Packaging (YPIPP), strengthening its commitment to attracting the next generation into the corrugated packaging industry.
The invitation follows the SPA’s participation in the cross-association meeting held in March, where leaders from across the UK’s print and packaging trade associations came together to develop a more collaborative approach to tackling the industry’s growing skills and talent challenge.
Representing the SPA on the YPIPP Board will be Tim Gray, SPA Chairman, and Katie Ryan, Commercial & Events Lead, who will share the role on behalf of the Association’s members.
Working alongside YPIPP and fellow industry organisations, the SPA will help champion careers in corrugated packaging, strengthen links with schools, colleges and universities, support industry open days and careers events, and encourage more young people to consider rewarding careers in manufacturing, engineering, design, technology and business.
This appointment further reinforces the SPA’s commitment to developing future talent through initiatives including the SPA Emerging Leaders Programme and student engagement activities.
