New Cyrel® EASY ESXR and Cyrel® EASY FAST EFXR plates extend ReNew portfolio across solvent and thermal platemaking workflows
DuPont™ Cyrel® Flexographic Solutions has today announced the expansion of its award-winning Cyrel® ReNew portfolio with two new flexographic plates, giving label and packaging converters more options to help reduce the carbon footprint of plate production while maintaining the print quality, consistency and productivity expected from modern flexographic platemaking.
Introduced on the opening day of LOUPE Americas 2026 in Chicago, the new DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY ESXR and DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY FAST EFXR plates extend the Cyrel® ReNew portfolio across both solvent and thermal platemaking workflows.
The photopolymer used in Cyrel® ReNew plates contains more than 50% ISCC PLUS-certified bio-circular raw material. Through a mass balance approach, renewable feedstocks can be integrated into existing manufacturing processes while maintaining the material characteristics required for high-quality flexographic printing. The approach also provides traceability of renewable inputs through the supply chain.
“Expanding the Cyrel® ReNew portfolio gives converters more opportunities to introduce renewable raw materials into their existing platemaking operations,” said Tucker Norton, Vice President & General Manager, DuPont Printing & Films. “Our objective is to make sustainability practical, providing solutions that deliver measurable environmental benefits while maintaining the performance, consistency and productivity our customers depend on.”
DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY ESXR is a digital solvent-processing plate featuring built-in flat-top dot technology. It combines high ink transfer and resolution with robustness, clean running and a wide tonal range. Its high platemaking latitude and uniformity can help reduce press setup time, while its smooth surface is well suited to micro-screening and special print effects.
DuPont™ Cyrel® EASY FAST EFXR is designed specifically for the DuPont™ Cyrel® FAST thermal system. It combines the print performance characteristics expected from the Cyrel® EASY platform with the speed and efficiency of thermal platemaking. Plates can be processed in less than one hour with no drying step, supporting just-in-time platemaking and helping converters respond quickly to production demands.
“The addition of ESXR and EFXR is an important step in the development of the Cyrel® ReNew portfolio,” said Tucker. “Customers have different equipment, workflows and production requirements, so there is no single route to more sustainable platemaking. By extending ReNew across solvent and thermal technologies, we are giving converters greater choice while keeping the focus firmly on print performance.
“Cyrel® ReNew was developed around a simple principle,” added Tucker. “Sustainability should not require customers to compromise the performance of their existing production processes. With the expansion of the portfolio announced today, more converters can now explore the benefits of renewable raw materials while continuing to produce the quality and consistency their customers expect.”
The introduction of the two new Cyrel® ReNew plates further strengthens the company’s commitment to advancing sustainable solutions across the flexographic platemaking workflow, building on the established Cyrel® FAST thermal system and recent GreenCircle certification.
Cyrel® ReNew was recognized with the Sustainability Excellence Award at FTA FORUM INFOFLEX 2026, reflecting growing industry interest in solutions that can reduce reliance on fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the performance required for packaging production.
LOUPE attendees are invited to visit the DuPont booth #327 to learn more about this exciting development and explore the full range of innovations within the DuPont™ Cyrel® portfolio. The team will be available throughout the event to discuss industry challenges, emerging opportunities, and how DuPont continues to help customers achieve both business and sustainability objectives.
