Fosber has announced the sale of a complete S/Line 420 corrugator to Fernandez S/A, located in Amparo, São Paulo, Brazil.
This latest investment marks a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Fernandez Papel, a family-owned industry pioneer established in 1971, is currently undergoing a progressive generational transition. Under the leadership of the younger generation, the company is reinforcing its commitment to technological advancement, production efficiency, and long-term market leadership in 100% recycled paper and corrugated packaging solutions across Latin America.
The new installation will feature a high-performance 2.8-meter-wide S/Line 420 corrugator, specifically configured for double-wall board production. To maximise operational flexibility and efficiency, the line will be equipped with a triple dry-end system, enabling faster order changes and consistent high-speed output across a wide range of products.
Fully aligned with Industry 4.0 standards, the corrugator will incorporate advanced data acquisition and diagnostic systems. These smart technologies will provide real-time performance monitoring, enhanced energy efficiency, and superior board quality through automated process control.
Fernandez Papel continues to strengthen its position as a fully integrated manufacturer. Its Amparo facility operates three paper machines, with deckles of 3100 mm, 2600 mm, and 2600 mm, producing high-quality recycled containerboard.
The addition of the new S/Line 420 will seamlessly integrate with the company’s existing operations, which include a Medesa corrugator line upgraded with Fosber technology such as a slitter scorer and rotary shear. This expansion significantly enhances Fernandez’s ability to convert its own premium recycled paper into high-quality corrugated board and packaging solutions.
Speaking on the development, Marco Bertola, CEO of Fosber Group, said, “We are proud to be once again chosen by the Fernandez family as their strategic partner. It is inspiring to see the next generation leading with a clear vision for innovation and sustainability. The S/Line 420 perfectly aligns with their high standards of operational excellence.”
The installation is scheduled for later this year and is expected to deliver a major boost in production speed, efficiency, and board quality, further strengthening the Brazilian corrugated packaging industry.
