Indian packaging films producer, Cosmo Films, has rolled out a combination of BOPET, BOPP, and CPP films focused on fulfilling the growing demand for food-safe packaging. Cosmo Films has widened its packaging line-up in India with the introduction of a new variety of packaging for the pet food industry. Its new variety features a high temperature-resistant transparent TR (Thermal Resistant)-BOPP film, together with a suite of lidding solutions and barrier films.
The TR-BOPP film can endure temperatures of up to 185°C and promises to offer uniform linear tear presentation. It is situated as a substitute to conventional PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) print coatings commonly utilized in pet food packaging. The prolonged portfolio comprises anti-fog transparent BOPET lidding films and COPET-coated BOPET films patterned to improve adhesion and machinability. It also comprises coated metallized BOPET films advanced to enhance oxygen and moisture resistance properties for both wet and dry pet food usages.
Additionally, the launch comprises ultra-high resistance metallized BOPP films planned to replace aluminum foil, permitting simpler packaging constructions while preserving protection against oxygen and moisture for dry pet treats and food. Cosmo First group CEO Pankaj Poddar expressed: “The pet food group is developing rapidly, and packaging must change with it. With this development, we are leveraging our deep subject film proficiency and applying critical insights gained from building Zigly, our fast-growing pet care corporation. Our direct consideration of pet parent customer behavior and product necessities allows us to engineer packaging films that offer higher safety, barrier presentation, convenience, and brand diversity.”
In August this year, Cosmo Films USA, which is a subsidiary of Indian specialty film producer Cosmo First, extended its operations in North America through the connection of a 120in-wide high-speed slitter rewinder at its Carol Stream Warehouse in Chicago, U.S.
This initiative is planned to address the growing demand for flexible packaging options in the region. Cosmo Films foray into pet-food-ready packing films bring into line with its extensive strategy of intensifying into high-development, high-value applications across flexible packaging. Maintained by strong R&D competencies, global documentation, and multi-technology engineering, the company endures to influence innovation across categories that demand improved performance and security.
