SUSTAINABLE packaging partner Go-Pak Group has announced the appointment of Bethan Edwards as head of foodservice for the UK and Ireland, overseeing the company’s commercial food, drink and catering distributer network.
Renowned for her expertise in new product development (NPD) and account management, Bethan combines strategic insight with a creative flair to bring innovative, sustainable products to market.
Bethan brings extensive experience from Vegware, where she began as regional sales manager (South UK), before being promoted to head of national accounts. In that role, she led the team managing Vegware’s UK-wide account business.
“I’m thrilled to join Go-Pak,” Bethan said. “As the industry faces what Mintel calls a ‘greenwash hangover’, customers are demanding clearer, more credible sustainability claims. Go-Pak stands out by focusing on genuine, evidence-led solutions. I’m passionate about helping customers cut through the noise with clarity and trust, and I look forward to supporting the team and contributing fresh ideas to the product portfolio.”
In her new role, Bethan will manage a team of six, focusing on growing Go-Pak’s innovative and sustainable product range, upholding its integrity and educating its customers while equipping distributors with the tools they need to succeed.
She plans to leverage emerging trends in the foodservice sector, including the move toward grab-and-go solutions, colourful yet sustainable packaging and innovative materials such as compostable fibrous and moulded fibre options.
Her vision also includes enhancing offerings in bakeries and coffee shops across the UK and Ireland – categories in which the latest Mintel report predicts mounting pressure for packaging that not only performs well but demonstrates verifiable environmental benefits and supports a more circular approach.
Bethan’s appointment aligns with Go-Pak’s commitment to quality, cutting-edge design and progressive sustainability, including opportunities to scale pioneering compostable products through its Edenware brand – its alternative to PE lined cups, manufactured using a plant-based PLA lining and certified to EN 13432 industrial compostable standards – and Aqueous coated cups, a water-based solution applied to the inner surface of paper cups to make them leak resistant and durable.
Her career achievements, including being awarded Food Packaging Association’s Rising Star 2024, reflect her dedication to advancing the evolution of the foodservice sector.
Based in Swansea, Bethan will work closely with sales director John Young to further strengthen Go-Pak’s position as a market leader in sustainable packaging solutions.
John Young commented: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Bethan to the team. Her experience with major brands and her innovative approach to product development perfectly align with Go-Pak’s growth ambitions. We’re excited to strengthen our market presence and deliver outstanding service to our customers across the UK and Ireland.”
