Sun Automation Group, a US-based provider of equipment and services to the corrugated packaging industry, has expanded its partnership with Latitude Machinery Corp (LMC) into the European market. The move will make LMC’s flexo folder gluers (FFGs) and rotary die cutters (RDCs) more accessible to corrugated converters across the UK and continental Europe.
The partnership between Sun and LMC has been in place for several years, with a focus on the North and Central American markets. According to Sun, the collaboration has resulted in a strong customer base in the US, where LMC’s equipment is supported by Sun’s technical service and spare parts infrastructure.
“We’ve seen consistent demand for LMC’s converting machinery in the US market,” said Greg Jones, executive vice president at Sun Automation Group. “Expanding into Europe is a logical next step, allowing us to support more box makers with proven equipment and localised service.”
The expansion reflects a broader strategy by Sun to grow its global presence and meet increasing demand for modern corrugated converting solutions. The company will handle sales, technical support, and parts supply for LMC machinery throughout Europe.
Gokul Gopakumar, Sun’s vice president of technology and business development, noted that the European market shares many of the same operational challenges as North America, including pressure to increase efficiency and reduce downtime. “The combination of LMC’s machinery and our regional support infrastructure positions us to help converters meet those challenges effectively,” he said.
Anson Hsiao, sales manager at LMC, added that the company views Europe as a key growth region. “We’re confident that Sun’s presence and expertise in the market will ensure European customers receive the same level of long-term support that has defined our partnership elsewhere,” he stated.
