Cepac are delighted to announce it picked up several awards at the FIA UK 2025 Awards, which were held at the Titanic Museum in Liverpool on 26th June. Cepac was pitted against an exceptional level of high quality, printed corrugated decorative transit packs and, in the case of Best in Show, against all substrate entries from all of the leading packaging manufacturers in the UK.
In addition to the coveted Best in Show award, Cepac’s award winners included:
- Corrugated Post Print – Coated Process: Gold for Claude’s Bistro – Poultry selection
- Corrugated Folder Gluer – Coated: Silver for Paragon – Premium Range Burger
- Corrugated Post Print – Coated Line & Screen: Highly Commended for Natural Trainer – Straccetti
At the end of the ceremony, the FIA UK Judges presented ‘Best in Show’ to Cepac. The judges noted the high level of technical characteristics of how the print was undertaken, and awarded the coveted prize for the Claude’s Bistro – Poultry selection box. The judges commented “The outstanding entry wowed our judges with its exceptional print quality and attention to detail – a shining example of the very best in flexographic excellence. Congratulations to the entire team behind this achievement. Your dedication and craftsmanship truly set the standard for our industry. A proud moment for Cepac and for flexo as a whole.”
Each of Cepac’s award winning entries were produced in partnership with Cramlington-based leading pre-press specialist, Reproflex3 Ltd on the Koenig & Bauer Celmacch ChromaCUT X Pro, which is the first of its kind in the UK. The high quality flexo post print machine is also equipped with a rotary die-cutting unit and utilises Pamarco anilox rolls, running Flint water based flexo inks.
The flexo press is fitted with four flexo printing units; thanks to the high board line configuration, it means the machine can be running, for example, a two colour job and the machine operators can be setting up the next two colour job while it is running, for a near instant order change. The press can run at 12,000 sheets per hour and has a maximum width of 2.8m, meaning Cepac can produce multiple boxes from one large format sheet.
