Emirates Biotech, a leading innovator in the biopolymers industry, will be participating in ArabPlast 2025, one of the largest international exhibitions for the plastics, petrochemicals, rubber, and plastic packaging industries in the Middle East. The company will be showcasing its innovative and sustainable solutions at Stand S2F04 in Dubai World Trade Centre from 7-9 January 2025.
At ArabPlast, Emirates Biotech will highlight the versatility of PLA (polylactic acid) biopolymers, which are renewable, recyclable, and biodegradable alternatives to traditional plastics. ArabPlast visitors will also have the opportunity to explore Emirates Biotech’s wide range of market applications made from PLA resins, including consumer goods, packaging, and food service ware, showcasing the material’s adaptability and potential to transform according to various industries’ demands and requirements. These offerings reflect Emirates Biotech’s commitment to creating eco-friendly solutions that support a circular economy.
“As a new entrant to the industry, we are delighted to exhibit at ArabPlast and share our vision for a sustainable future,” said François de Bie, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Biotech. “PLA biopolymers offer unparalleled environmental benefits, and it is essential to highlight their potential in reducing plastic pollution and supporting a circular economy.”
Emirates Biotech recently selected Sulzer, a global leader in chemical processing and fluid engineering, as its technology partner to develop the world’s largest PLA production facility in the UAE. The plant, set to commence operations in early 2028, will boast a capacity of 160,000 tons per annum, cementing the Middle East’s role as a global leader in the bioplastics industry.
