Established in 1982, MPH began as a prepress artwork studio and platemaking enterprise. After a management buyout in 2020, the company relocated its entire operation to a factory space along the River Stour in Manningtree, Essex. Already equipped with one CDI, MPH has recently invested in a second CDI for its facility.
Ian Runacres, director of MPH, expressed enthusiasm about the hardware acquisition, emphasizing its importance in the company’s commitment to innovation and delivering top-quality plates. “With the addition of a second CDI Spark imager, we’re significantly enhancing our plate production capabilities, instantly doubling our capacity for top-notch manufacturing,” said Ian. “This investment perfectly aligns with our dedication to providing high-quality flexographic printing solutions with improved efficiency and precision.”
He continued, “Following our recent investment in a brand-new Vianord Engineering flexographic plate processor, integrating this second Esko CDI imager into our production is a testament to our ongoing efforts to streamline our processes and deliver unmatched results to our clients. Our ethos has always been to remain at the forefront of development, and this latest investment enables us to offer our clients the best technology to meet market demands.”
“Our commitment to staying ahead in technology is unwavering, and this latest installation brings our total investment to nearly half a million pounds (approximately USD 65 million) since 2020 alone.”
Mike Ball, sales account manager at Esko, applauded MPH’s dedication to enhancing its services and exceeding expectations. “The investment in the second CDI underscores Ian and the rest of the MPH management team’s commitment to elevating its services, meeting growing demands, and surpassing expectations,” he said. “The Esko CDI can be tailored to meet specific production needs and has the flexibility to expand capabilities as the business grows – a feature that MPH understands well.”
“We’ve collaborated with MPH for several years, and witnessing their recent success following the change of ownership has been gratifying,” Ball added. “The Esko CDI is renowned for setting standards in flexo plate production, offering proven laser imaging technology and high-resolution optics that deliver superior plates. The fact that MPH is investing in a second unit is the best endorsement we could ask for from a customer.”
