Uflex introduces a range of innovative products and solutions to improve the recyclability, sustainability, usability and visual appeal of product packaging. The innovations are aimed at product protection, low production costs, easy manufacturing and effective anti-counterfeiting measures.
The list begins in flexible packaging with three-layer, three-dimensional pouches with registered metallization for Triveni’s premium brown sugar. The composition of the packaging is made of PET, its window metalized polyester (MET PET) and green polyethylene (NAT PE). As well as making it widely reusable, it gives the packaging an attractive metallic luster without detracting from the transparency of the packet.
Uflex has also announced a profile spout pouch for BigBasket Royal Organic Edible Oil. Composed of PET, polyethylene (PE) and biaxially oriented nylon (BON) in a 3-ply packaging structure, the package is resealable, designed for an easy pouring experience and attempts to replace rigid oil containers .
The third packaging-related launch is a 3D pouch with a paper-based barrier laminate for Beachville Coffee Roasters. The design claims to be more eco-friendly than its market competitors, as well as keep the coffee fresh with its one-way valve inside the packaging.
In addition, the company has announced its new contribution to the adhesives industry. The FLEXBOND SF WET LM 35 is designed extensively for the wet lamination of clear biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) films to paper or duplex boards. Applied with manual or semi-automatic machines, the adhesive is water-based, which Uflex claims, makes the product more durable.
The FLEXCOTE HP 875 and HP 75 have been developed for retort packaging formats, particularly those involving packaged foods or pharmaceutical products. Their strong adhesion will allow 2kg pressurized packages to withstand a boiling temperature of 131oC for 30 minutes.
