MM Board & Paper has introduced its latest folding boxboard innovation for packaging converters with the launch of ALASKA® BRIGHT NEW.
ALASKA® BRIGHT NEW features a number of key benefits that support converters looking to improve efficiency, helping to optimise every production run. It employs targeted lightweighting across selected grammages while maintaining the superb print performance, surface quality, and converting behavior of the popular original ALASKA® BRIGHT.
The announcement is a boost for converters looking to reduce pack weight and increase material efficiency in order to meet customer sustainability goals. The new substrate – produced at MM Kotkamills in Finland – is suitable for use across a wide range of applications, including dry food, pharma and healthcare, cosmetics, personal care, and even graphical projects. Its smoothness and printability also mean it possesses ideal coding properties, as customers have come to expect from MM Board & Paper’s virgin fibre. This is a major benefit at a time when evolving consumer preferences and legal obligations, such as the EU’s Digital Product Passports (DPP), are placing heightened focus on data carrying in packaging.
Michael Strobl, Director Innovation & Technical Services at MM Board & Paper, said: “When packaging needs to look sharp, run smoothly, and deliver consistent results day after day, reliability matters, especially in everyday production. ALASKA® BRIGHT NEW supports customers in raising their products to new heights with less material, without changing what already works.
With ALASKA® BRIGHT NEW, material efficiency has been improved while all other key characteristics remain unchanged. Appearance, surface quality, print performance, and converting behavior stay exactly as customers know them — refined, not reinvented.”
The original ALASKA® BRIGHT will remain on the market over the coming months to ensure customers can smoothly transition to the improved ALASKA® BRIGHT NEW.
