This new AI-driven module helps packaging manufacturers strengthen profitability by optimising quote pricing based on real production and commercial data.
Designed specifically for converters, the Smart Pricing Assistant analyses historical quotations and orders to forecast how pricing decisions affect the likelihood of winning each job. It considers multiple real-world factors such as board and ink costs, run length, machine setup times, seasonality, and customer behaviour, helping teams find the ideal balance between competitiveness and margin.
By virtually simulating price scenarios, the software identifies where converters can safely increase prices without reducing conversions and where targeted discounts can secure new business.“In our pilot programme, around 10% of quotes could carry at least a five-point margin increase with no drop in conversions,” explains Arnaud, Principal Engineer at Packitoo. “On average, that equates to a two-point uplift in net EBIT across the portfolio. So many converters live with a ‘some we win, some we lose’ situation. This tool enables dynamic pricing based on the actual production reality, ensuring long-term profit performance.”
Fully integrated into HIPE, Packitoo’s Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) platform, already used by converters across Europe, the Smart Pricing Assistant enables users to see at a glance:
