As part of their brand new eRange, Reedbut Group have introduced ePACcessible; inclusive packaging features that can be applied to any box design.
For a disabled person with limited mobility and independence, restricted by how far they can travel alone, being able to buy online is vital. However, products often arrive in packaging which can be difficult to open, particularly for someone with low dexterity or motor skills.
Inspired by lived experiences of disability, ePACcessible designs offer a unique opening assist designed to cater to varying levels of dexterity.
The easy-open tearaway strip has a large loop to hook and pull, rather than a tab to grip or pinch between fingers. This design allows people with low motor skills to gain access without assistance, for example by using their mouth, feet or prosthetic attachment, increasing independence and autonomy.
Other accessible features include:
High-contrast colours to enhance visibility for those with limited sight
Tactile symbols to aid navigation for those with reduced or no sight, including braille
Adopting ePACcessible features for your packaging helps promote inclusiveness and demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility, passing these benefits on to every single one of your customers.
