The novel active material science-based system is deployed as an extruded Activ-Film\u2122 material affixed to the lidding film of a package. After the package is sealed, the InvisiShield\u2122 system releases a controlled amount of chlorine dioxide to reduce pathogens commonly associated with minimally processed foods by as much as 99.9%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable easy deployment of this technology, Aptar and Proseal jointly developed an easy-to-integrate Film Application Module (FAM) that can be retrofit onto existing Proseal machines. With the FAM, the lidding film and InvisiShield\u2122 technology are applied at the same time, without the use of adhesive. There is no additional labor required and no impact to line speed.
