The UK Corrugated Industry Trade Show (UKCITS) is teaming up with Young People in Print & Packaging (YPIPP) to promote an often-overlooked industry among students. The team will be presenting at the 2026 conference in Telford, as well as having a dedicated booth to foster links between corrugated businesses and young people on the show floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
UKCITS, now in its eighth year, is aiming to highlight ways of interesting young people in the opportunities presented by the industry to the wide selection of brands, suppliers and manufacturers that attend. Alongside asking YPIPP to provide its industry-led expertise during the event, there will be a \u201cStudent Trail\u201d programme offering talks, face-to-face sessions and guided tours for young attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs an established supporter of UKCITS, it\u2019s always great to go and get a sense of the trends driving the industry every year,\u201d said Jo Stephenson, YPIPP board member. \u201cThis year we\u2019re really heartened to see the efforts being made to boost youth engagement in the sector and are keen to build on that initiative during our time in Telford.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
YPIPP\u2019s appearance at this year\u2019s show coincides with its Love Our Landmarks campaign, designed to get schools in contact with local print businesses to forge connections between students and the industry. \u201cOur aim is to help young people build the skills needed for a stable, interesting career,\u201d Stephenson notes. \u201cBut equally important to us is getting companies across the supply chain involved, so that they can help foster local pools of talent that will pay massive dividends in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attendees to the show will get the chance to learn more about YPIPP\u2019s work at UKCITS 2026 during both days of the event; the show is taking place on the Ground Floor of Hall 3 at Telford International Centre in Shropshire on October 6 and 7, where all visitors can attend free of charge.
