(APB), an independent folding carton manufacturer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has purchased a new Koenig &amp; Bauer Rapida 106 41-inch seven-color press with coater \u2014 the largest single capital investment in the company&#8217;s more than 50-year history. The investment modernizes APB&#8217;s pressroom and expands the range of work the company can take on for brand owners across North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOver the years, our commitment to providing innovative and high-quality packaging solutions has driven our growth, and now, we\u2019re taking it to the next level with a significant capacity expansion and other forward-thinking initiatives,\u201d says Gerry Choquette, President &amp; CEO, Advance Paper Box Ltd. &#8220;We&#8217;ve been making cartons here for over 50 years. This investment in a new Koenig &amp; Bauer Rapida 106 says we intend to be doing it for the next 50.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new Rapida press, which will be delivered in early 2027, is designed with APB\u2019s current and future customers\u2019 needs in mind. They consistently requested more colors, faster turnaround times, and job analytics for all of their work. This is what is required by brand owners with today\u2019s multi-SKU initiatives. Customers requested extended color gamut so APB could match a far wider range of brand colors without dedicated spot inks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe Rapida 106 modernizes and expands our pressroom and allows for additional capacity,\u201d says Yeti Biroue, APB\u2019s Chief Financial Officer. \u201cIt will become our flagship press and will produce the majority of our folding carton work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APB chose Koenig &amp; Bauer due to a number of significant factors. First, relates Biroue, Koenig &amp; Bauer has been building printing presses since 1817. \u201cWhen you&#8217;re making the largest capital commitment in your company&#8217;s history, continuity matters,\u201d he says. \u201cWe wanted a trusted advisor who will support our newest investment as well as our whole organization well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cSecond, beyond Koenig &amp; Bauer\u2019s history and track record, our decision came down to the people.
