Designed to maintain performance while using certified recycled material, the films help support operational efficiency, load stability and packaging performance requirements while contributing to total cost of ownership objectives.

Tiptree’s move comes ahead of significant UK PPT changes due to take effect from April 2027, when post-industrial recycled (PIR) content will no longer count toward the 30% minimum recycled plastic threshold and only post-consumer recycled (PCR) content will be accepted. As a result, Tiptree selected Amcor’s collation shrink film and Bontite Sustane stretch wrap because their PCR content levels are independently certified, supporting accurate sustainability reporting.

Both films are produced at Amcor’s UK sites in Leominster and Bromborough and are RecyClass Recycled Plastics Traceability Certified (EN15343). The certification provides independent verification of the PCR plastic incorporated into each film and confirms that recycled materials are fully traceable through controlled production processes aligned with recognized European standards.

Manuel Martinez, packaging buyer at Wilkin & Sons said: “Our relationship with Amcor is collaborative, so faced with upcoming PPT changes it was natural to lean on Amcor’s knowledge and expertise. We’ve been incorporating recycled content into our packaging for some time and having that content independently verified via RecyClass, with certification, gives us confidence in the traceability of the material. Just as important, we have maintained the packaging performance and the level of operational efficiency that our business depends on.”

Gabrielle Ditsch, sales director at Amcor added: “We’ve worked with Tiptree for many years. We’re always looking at ways we can help customers increase the use of recycled content in their packaging without compromising on performance. Incorporating PCR into shrink and stretch films can be technically challenging, which is why our focus has been on delivering solutions that maintain the strength, consistency and efficiency customers expect.”

With legislative changes continuing to shape the packaging supply chain, many businesses are reviewing their material choices. Amcor’s ability to combine high-performance films with independently certified recycled content, validated through testing and customer trials, is one of the reasons many brands rely on the company’s expertise.

The company has a strong UK manufacturing footprint with many certified sites and robust traceability systems, supported by expertise in material science, recycling and regulatory alignment.

“Customers are increasingly looking beyond recycled content percentages alone and asking where that material comes from, how it is verified and how it performs in practice,” said Gabrielle Ditsch. “That’s why certification, traceability and product performance all matter. By combining independently certified PCR content with high-performing film technologies, we can help customers meet evolving requirements while supporting packaging efficiency, product protection and total cost of ownership.”

Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has partnered with Tiptree, the preserves and spreads brand owned by Wilkin & Sons, to deliver certified 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) films for Tiptree’s shrink films and pallet stretch wrap, helping the brand prepare for upcoming UK Plastic Packaging Tax

[67
157,51
post-23364","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-flexible-packaging","tag-amcor","tag-top-news
["GET
