The acquisition complements the Pregis fiber-based packaging portfolio and supports continued investment in sustainable material innovation and temperature-sensitive shipping solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The acquired business operates two manufacturing facilities, in New Albany, Ind., and Norfolk, Neb., and employs approximately 110 people. It produces paper-based thermal packaging used to protect temperature-sensitive shipments, enabling curbside recycling where collection systems exist. Pregis will continue to serve existing customers of the business while investing in scaling the technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Strengthening a Fiber-Based Cold Chain Platform<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The acquisition strengthens the company\u2019s position in the growing cold chain market and complements the paper-based cold chain solutions Pregis has been developing. The acquired technology creates packaging that provides thermal insulating properties made from macerated cardboard. Pregis views this capability as a strategic avenue for fiber-based cold chain solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This approach mirrors the successful expansion of Pregis EverTec<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;paper mailer technology, which was acquired in 2020 and scaled into a business producing more than one billion mailers annually across five dedicated manufacturing facilities.
