{"id":22519,"date":"2026-06-05T03:30:17","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T03:30:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cpmirror.com\/?p=22519"},"modified":"2026-06-05T03:30:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T03:30:19","slug":"fifa-bans-reusable-bottles-at-world-cup-venues-citing-safety-concerns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cpmirror.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/05\/fifa-bans-reusable-bottles-at-world-cup-venues-citing-safety-concerns\/","title":{"rendered":"FIFA bans reusable bottles at World Cup venues citing safety concerns"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">June 4 (Reuters) &#8211; Attendees of the World Cup will not be allowed to carry reusable water bottles into venues due to safety concerns, FIFA said \u200bon Thursday, following a last-minute change to its Stadium Code \u200cof Conduct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The governing body, which had earlier permitted empty, transparent, reusable plastic bottles inside stadiums, said the updated code &#8211; effective from Tuesday &#8211; now prohibits them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other items \u200blike bottles, cups, jars and cans are also banned to prevent \u200bthe risk of injury if thrown.<br>&#8220;FIFA is committed to protecting \u2060the health and safety of all players, referees, fans, volunteers, and \u200bstaff,&#8221; it told Reuters in a statement. &#8220;FIFA made the decision to prohibit \u200bbottles to prevent risk and injury to players and attendees.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Outside bottles are already prohibited at several of these venues for safety considerations and FIFA is applying this \u200bconsideration across its tournament stadiums.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move has raised concerns among supporters about \u200bcoping with heat, with temperatures at a few venues expected to range between 26 \u200cand \u206028 degrees Celsius, as well as access to drinking water inside stadiums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FIFA said measures would be in place to deal with the conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;FIFA works closely with each Host City Committee and local authorities on heat \u200bmitigation factors for fans \u200btraveling to \u2060the stadium, which can include resources such as misting stations, fans, hydration stations, cooling tents and more around \u200bthe stadium footprint,&#8221; the statement said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Inside the stadium footprint, \u200bpricing for \u2060water bottles for the FIFA World Cup 2026 will remain consistent with other events held at each stadium.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 48-team World Cup, co-hosted by the \u2060U.S., Canada, \u200band Mexico, will run from June 11 \u200bto July 19.
