Mondi, a global leader in sustainable packaging and paper, welcomed international customers and partners to celebrate the inauguration of its state-of-the-art paper machine at its \u0160t\u011bt\u00ed mill in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new machine was successfully started up in December 2024 and meets the growing customer demand for paper-based flexible packaging, driven by eCommerce and an increasing focus on sustainability. It will produce around 210,000 tonnes of high-performance kraft paper per year, delivering a broad range of high-strength and high-porosity grades for construction, industrial and eCommerce applications, further advancing Mondi\u2019s commitment to offering customers packaging and paper solutions that are sustainable by design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new paper machine forms part of a \u20ac400 million investment in the mill enhancing Mondi\u2019s ability to provide customers with a reliable supply of kraft paper and to support their transition to renewable and recyclable paper-based solutions. It also enables Mondi to optimise production across its wider kraft paper portfolio offering customers a full range of high-quality speciality kraft papers, including functional barrier grades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The inauguration event held earlier this month celebrated Mondi\u2019s commitment to long-term partnerships, circularity and sustainable growth. More than 130 customers and partners joined the celebration to see the new paper machine in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the event, Andrew King<\/strong>, Mondi Group CEO, said: \u201cThis is more than a paper machine, it is a symbol of what we can achieve when innovation, sustainability and teamwork come together.
