European packaging manufacturer Coveris has been recognised at this year\u2019s Green Packaging Star Award for its innovative SleeveFlexR Stretch solution. Recyclable through existing collection streams, the sleeves impressed the jury in the category Environmentally Friendly Production Process. The award was presented during the FachPack trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Delivering on the No Waste vision, Coveris has launched SleeveFlexR Stretch, the first solution to make a genuine sleeve to sleeve recycling loop possible. The lightweight, elastic sleeves are designed for applications across beverages, dairy, household and personal care products, as well as speciality and agrochemicals. Depending on the variant, they contain up to 75 per cent high-quality post-consumer recycled material (PCR) and can be reprocessed through Coveris\u2019 proprietary ReCover recycling technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
High functionality, half the emissions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n With SleeveFlexR Stretch Coveris combines resource conservation with functionality. The PE-based sleeves are applied without heat or adhesives, making them easy to remove and ensuring clean separation in established recycling streams. Compared to conventional virgin-material solutions, the 75 per cent PCR version cuts CO\u2082 emissions, energy use and water consumption by around 50 per cent.
