Oji India Packaging, a subsidiary of Japan\u2019s Oji Group, has officially inaugurated its new corrugated packaging plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, marking its fifth and largest unit in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The facility, spanning 43,000 square metres, is now the second-biggest corrugated plant in South Asia, underlining Oji\u2019s long-term commitment to India\u2019s fast-growing packaging industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The automated plant boasts an annual production capacity of 100 million square metres of corrugated boxes and packaging accessories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently employing more than 100 people, Oji plans to expand its workforce to 300 in the coming years, reinforcing its role in local job creation and skill development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Designed to cater to diverse sectors including FMCG, automotive, textiles, and e-commerce, the Sri City plant specializes in heavy-duty corrugated solutions that improve supply chain efficiency and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hiroyuki Isono<\/strong>, President and Group CEO of Oji Holdings Corporation emphasized India\u2019s importance in Oji\u2019s global growth strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Sri City plant is not only a comprehensive solution for South India\u2019s packaging needs but also a reflection of our global mission, sustainability, innovation, and value creation for customers,\u201d he stated, acknowledging Sri City\u2019s infrastructure and government support in enabling the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Oji\u2019s expansion arrives at a time when India\u2019s corrugated packaging sector is experiencing robust growth, driven by e-commerce penetration, rising exports, and sustainability mandates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to the Indian Corrugated Case Manufacturers\u2019 Association (ICCMA), the industry is growing at 12\u201315% annually, with increasing adoption of lightweight and recyclable packaging solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Several global and domestic players are also ramping up investments.
