{"id":17510,"date":"2025-05-16T12:57:58","date_gmt":"2025-05-16T12:57:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cpmirror.com\/?p=17510"},"modified":"2025-05-16T12:57:59","modified_gmt":"2025-05-16T12:57:59","slug":"coca-cola-to-update-recycling-labels-following-eu-greenwashing-complaint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cpmirror.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/16\/coca-cola-to-update-recycling-labels-following-eu-greenwashing-complaint\/","title":{"rendered":"Coca-Cola to update recycling labels following EU greenwashing complaint"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dive Brief:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Coca-Cola Company has committed to revising labeling practices for some of its products following a greenwashing complaint made by the European Consumer Organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The beverage giant will now put a disclaimer on its plastic bottles that clarifies that only the body of the bottle is made from 100% recycled plastic, and the recycling claim does not apply to the label and cap, according to an\u00a0update published by the European Commission last week.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The changes come after the bloc\u2019s consumer organization, BEUC, along with other member organizations from 13 countries, complained about misleading marketing claims made by major bottle manufacturers about the recyclability of their products.
