Starting in Europe and North America, the changeover supports the company\u2019s goals for operational efficiency and environmental responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is important to find opportunities in all facets of our business where we can reduce costs and carbon emissions at the same time,\u201d said <strong>John Panichella<\/strong> , CEO, Solenis. \u201cAdopting more sustainable technologies like hybrid and electric vehicles is another action item in our commitment to corporate social responsibility, matching the enthusiasm for sustainability that we see from our customers and stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Solenis will focus initially on the 82 percent of its fleet located in Europe and North America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Europe<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Transition to battery electric vehicles where possible and plug-in hybrid vehicles elsewhere, with exceptions as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>North America<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2014 Target 100 percent hybrid vehicles in the U.S., while Canada will be phased in as the local charging infrastructure matures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Latin America, Asia Pacific, Middle East, India and Africa<\/strong>&nbsp;will be reassessed annually, with electrification based on vehicle availability and infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The company will conduct annual reviews to introduce new vehicles and expand into new countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent research shows that road transportation accounted for approximately 16 percent of&nbsp;global greenhouse gas emissions&nbsp;in 2023, the second-largest source of emissions behind coal-fired power. EVs are considered the single most important technology for decarbonizing the transportation sector, as they have&nbsp;lower life cycle emissions&nbsp;when compared to internal combustion engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The importance of fleet electrification extends beyond environmental benefits.
