At the event, Sonoco will showcase its leading rigid paperboard packaging solutions: EnviroCan\u00ae and GREENCAN\u00ae. Sonoco\u2019s Gravy paperboard drum solution, which won&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sonocoeurope.com\/2022\/10\/27\/sonoco-awarded-supply-chain-solution-of-the-year\/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CThe%20judges%20were%20impressed%20with,that%20reduced%20the%20materials%20used.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Supply Chain Solution of the Year at the 2022 UK Packaging Awards<\/a>, will also be on display.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recyclable by design, the EnviroCan\u00ae rigid paperboard container (part of the EnviroSense\u00ae range) is made of up to 85% recycled material.\u202f The can body is made with recycled fibre and the solution features a highly effective oxygen and moisture barrier layer, which assures food safety and preserves shelf-life, while ensuring ease of recycling through the household paper and cardboard stream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the event, Sonoco will exhibit its newest and largest size paper end EnviroCan\u00ae, which is 153mm in diameter. Other EnviroCan\u00ae sizes (with diameters of 73mm, 99mm and 140mm) will also be showcased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wide variety of closures available for use with EnviroCan\u00ae \u2013 including paper lids and sprinkler options \u2013 will also be exhibited on the Sonoco stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GREENCAN\u00ae recyclable paperboard package is made\u202fof 92-98% paperboard and features a wide range of barrier\u202fproperties. Available in multiple shapes and sizes \u2013 from round, square or rectangular; to oval, oblong or triangular \u2013 it is \u2018designed to recycle\u2019 paper can, providing a highly recyclable packaging solution, with robust barrier properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GREENCAN\u00ae also features an integrated paper lid, so when empty, the whole package can go through the household paper recycling stream without any need to disassemble it. This makes it simple and convenient for the consumer and for the whole recycling process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the EnviroCan\u00ae and GREENCAN\u00ae ranges have a lower weight and reduced environmental footprint than comparably sized metal cans or other rigid packaging types.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The containers are suitable for the food and drink, beauty and pharma markets, and are already used by some of the most iconic global brands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kieren France, Vice President &#8211; Sales and Marketing at Sonoco Europe, comments: \u201cWe always enjoy exhibiting at Packaging Innovations at the NEC and we\u2019re delighted to return to the event in 2024.
